About this movie

Drawing from over 100 hours of never-before-seen footage that has been tucked away in the National Geographic archives for over 50 years, award-winning director Brett Morgen tells the story of JANE, a woman whose chimpanzee research challenged the scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized our understanding of the natural world. Set to a rich orchestral score from composer Philip Glass.

To me this is as SACRED of a document that has ever been Growing up, my heroes were Cousteau and Goodall. To the degree that I had such a reverence and appreciate and respect, that in fact they were easily two of the biggest influences in my life. Now, so many moons later, to come across this and see her half my age now, doing something so absolutely tremendous yet also something so basic.. so 'obvious', so natural.. I must confess that I to be shamed into silence as once again my appreciation and my unconditional love for her spirit, her ideals and her intellect leave me in a state of.. well.. Thank You Dr. Goodall, with every fiber of my being and equally so allow me to apologize now for us not taking your lead oh so long ago.
