About this movie

In 1957, a charismatic new black leader (Harry Belafonte) threatens to unseat British rule on the tropical island of Santa Marta. And soon, four scandalous love affairs intertwine to affect the political career of his wealthy rival (James Mason). Joan Collins, Stephen Boyd, Dorothy Dandridge and Joan Fontaine also star in this engaging film about scandal, politics and interracial marriage.

Very good acting. A periscope into what life was like in the British Indies as colonial institutions withered away.
