About this movie

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, “Into the Storm” throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.

One of the most ridiculous movies I have ever seen. And it's about such a serious subject at that. What a joke this movie makes of a phenomenon that kills many people each year just here in the US. I have had everything taken by a tornado. So to see such a playful use of such a terrible event is a direct slap in the face. I really thought this movie would have been a little more serious and honest. But hey, what should I have honestly expected, it's Hollywood after all.

It's got a typical disaster movie type feel to it, but that's not a bad thing at all. My only complaint is that it's designed to work as a found footage movie, but is too large scale to actually give that effect (which might be a good thing for some). Obviously it's not the type of film you'd compare to Titanic or something with a deeper story line, but it does what it sets out to do so 4 stars for what it is.

Way too much animation, the tornadoes looked fake. Towards the end of the movie their were eight school buses running from the tornado. In the next scene only one left. What happened to the other buses? It didn't show them getting wiped out. That's the problem when making a movie about a deadly twister with a PG rating. It's best to make movies likes this more grafic and brutal for realizam and settle for an R rating.
