Innocence

When hotshot lawyer Jung-in (Hye-sun Shin) hears about her father's death, she refuses to attend his funeral. Marred by childhood memories of his physical abuse, she does not want to relive these memories. Days later, she hears the shocking news report that someone died after pesticide was detected in the rice wine that was served at the funeral. Arrested for the crime was her mother, Hwa-ja (Jong-Ok Bae). Jung-in quickly heads to her hometown to attend her mother's hearing, who is now showing signs of dementia. Lack of motive, poor defence and only circumstantial evidence leads Jung-in to begin her own investigation into the crimes, and to defend her mother in court. With mounting suspicions, Jung-in begins uncovering terrifying truths and conspiracy.
