About this movie

Brad Pitt takes no prisoners in Quentin Tarantino's high-octane WWII revenge fantasy Inglourious Basterds. As war rages in Europe, a Nazi-scalping squad of American soldiers, known to their enemy as 'The Basterds,' is on a daring mission to take down the leaders of the Third Reich. Bursting with 'action, hair-trigger suspense and a machine-gun spray of killer dialogue' (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone), Inglourious Basterds is 'another Tarantino masterpiece' (Jake Hamilton, CBS-TV)!

I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes Quinten's films, as it is by far one of the greats, rivaling the likes of Django Unchained, The Hateful 8, and the iconic Pulp Fiction. Inglourious Bastards has that natural Quinten charm that everyone knows him for, and of course, as usual, the dialog was on point and extremely gripping, and the film has that satisfying sense of catharsis, as do most of Quinten's films, a feeling that never goes stale, no matter how many times one watches those scenes. On the topic of immersion, one would almost mistaken this film for a live retelling/ documentary, than a fictional World War 2 film. The films cast is phenomenal in this masterful piece of cinema, and the actors and actresses really fit well with the theme and plot of the film. I would personally say that this film is best enjoyed once one has gained enough knowledge in the film industries, as those are strong themes, heavily reinforced in this film, due to Quinten being an avid film and cinema lover, however being a cinema know-it-all is not required to enjoy this film, as with my experience. I would however warn any of those that have not seen a Quinten Tarantino film before, to brace yourselves because this film gets dark and gory very fast and very early. However if lots of guts and gore doesn't bother you, then I am very sure anyone would enjoy this film thoroughly, from beginning to end. (Do remember that Quinten Tarantino's films have a tendency to cause binge watching of all of his films, and it is advised that you pace yourself in between films as to savor and enjoy them to their full, like you would a bottle of whiskey or wine. You have been officially warned.)

The catastrophically self-indulgent Kill Bill led a lot of us to write Tarantino off, or at least assume his best days were behind him. And then along came Basterds, a flawed, beautiful lump of a film whose bucket load of pin-perfect scenes presaged greater things to come. Most exciting of all is the possibility that with Django, Tarantino hasn't even hit his stride yet.
