About this movie

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas bring you the greatest adventurer of all time in "a nonstop thrill ride" (Richard Corliss, TIME) that's packed with "sensational, awe-inspiring spectacles" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful Crystal Skull of Akator. Teaming up with a rebellious young biker (Shia LaBeouf) and his spirited original love Marion (Karen Allen), Indy takes you on a breathtaking action-packed adventure in the exciting tradition of the classic Indiana Jones movies!

I recently gave this movie a try. Knowing full well the negative reviews and that most Indiana Jones fans. Don't count this movie as part of the franchise. But just because others don't like it doesn't mean that I am going to dislike it. After all, I have been known to enjoy a few movies that others have hated. However, in this case. I am going to have to agree that this is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination. What bothered me the most about this film is that there are so many extra sequences that exist in this film that are there for only a poor payout. Overall this feels like a high budget fan made film that you would see on youtube. Bad writing, poor editing, mediocre directing, and probably even studio management meddling all plague this move. So, unless you absolutely love bad movies. I would recommend skipping this one.

While watching this film I felt a surge of darkness take my heart. George Lucas (and by extention Ford and Spielberg for letting him get his way), has once again been allowed to do the unthinkable. A man I once held in such high regard has done this twice now, and what that is is simply this:steal our money while indicating how stupid he thinks we are. Mr. Lucas, you could have at least prepped my eyes with ghost peppers before my viewing.

Fans of the Indiana Jones movies will simply love the return of one of Hollywood's greats. If you fear change (like so much of the movie-going public these days) then you will have a hard time with this one. I will put my voice into the former category and try to drown out the latter's loud, obnoxious, and boisterous cries for the further destruction of George Lucas. Any flaws in this film really come from the long gap between it and the last Indy picture of almost twenty years ago. The story carries us into a new era for Indiana Jones just as it would if the character actually lived, and it is good. It is another great action adventure serial that brings us back to the simple fun of movies. I loved it.
