Interesting movie. Not perfect, but far better than most horror movies these days. Very original plot. The acting was excellent and the movie LOOKED good as well. Some weird plot choices, but still well worth a watch. Zero transphobia. ZERO misogyny. My only guess for why the mainstream morons keep chirping those accusations in their idiotic smear piece reviews is because the little girls actually act somewhat like little girls, instead of impossibly perfect wonder women types (even though they still faired far better than real little girls would, who end up dead much easier and quicker in similar nightmare situations that happen in real life). The "transphobia" (lmfao) accusations come from the fact that the people who made this movie had the balls to make one of the killers a cross dresser, which is actually super realistic as an abnormal amount of serial killers are either cross dressers or outright gay. Hell, I can think of at least four immediately off the top of my head, Hadden Clark was a cross dresser, Russel Williams was a cross dresser, Jeffrey Dahmer was gay, John Wayne Gacy was gay, plus many more, so I don't know why a movie can't depict them ever as being any thing but angels. What a corny dumb world we're currently in. Anyways, give this movie a shot, it's woirth it.

Seen through the lens of a viewer who was not looking for social commentary or for something to hate about it, this movie was excellent. Ghostland is a magnificent movie where psychology meets suspense meets horror. I would highly recommend it to those who can watch a movie for the sake of a movie but not for those who want to compare an obvious, hopefully, work of fiction to everyday life. Perhaps I am not educated enough to see the misogyny or transphobia that is spoken about by other reviewers but to me this was a work of art that was satisfying and even worth a second viewing, to make sure I understood all of the symbolism. A+ work.

This, like most French horror is raw and visceral. The story is really similar to Dean Koontz's Intensity, but much more meaningful. It's hard to go into details without spoiling anything. I am glad I saw it. It left me thinking.
