About this movie

The creator of “Hamilton” and the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” invite you to a cinematic event, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big. Lights up on Washington Heights. The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tightknit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life. “In the Heights” fuses Lin‐Manuel Miranda’s kinetic music and lyrics with director Jon M. Chu’s lively and authentic eye for storytelling to capture a world very much of its place, but universal in its experience.

Loved the rootable characters, sense of community, and big numbers! Joyful and emotional movie with both a sense of place and representation, and universal themes. Watched this in the movie theater twice and bought video on demand as soon as available. You notice a lot more "little details" too on second viewing -- it's a great work of art on top of being entertaining.

Was a little skeptical to go into this, but I must say been a while since I saw a musical movie this good. Was really entertained with the good musics and dances. Plot was good enough and performances were on point with great selection of music tracks. Was a little bit race oriented bit nothing too serious. I highly recommend this for a chillaxing Friday night with the babe.

Just like I remember it on Broadway! I feel in love with Broadway because of this my very first show, and it represents the Latino community in its masses. So proud to be celebrated and put out onto the big screen ! ❤️❤️
