In a Valley of Violence

Ethan Hawke is just this guy who becomes the salvation of Denton and proves that fairy tales do have happy endings even if they weren't the ones you were expecting. There are worse things you can do to a man besides killing him. If you leave him with nothing, that makes him far more dangerous rather than less dangerous. Karen Gillan is exquisitely radiant as she displays more of her range as a renaissance actress.

Terrible lines and poorly directed. Ethan seems like he is trying too hard to be Clint Eastwood and the only likable character is the dog who gets killed way too soon in the film so the rest is intolerable. I fell asleep after the dog was killed. The acting is terrible and awkward. The script is neither funny or serious enough to be scary. There isn't enough blood to be gory so this leaves you with boring. The scenes seemed contrived and forced. There was no chemistry between any of the actors and or actresses. There was no story built about any characters so you had no feelings towards them one way or the other. There needed to be more history built up around the main character and or some of the minor characters for any sort of emotion to be brought into this film. The sets seem to lack imagination and originality as well...snooze fest!
