This movie can touch so many lives because there's people going through this. I can't imagine parents getting put to the most painful battle to prove that a parent with a disability can raise a child. But never judge a book by its cover.

This movie had me in tears. My instructor used this movie to answer questions regarding Family Law. This movie showed how some can be prejudice by looking on the outside of a person without knowing the genuine internal love and dedication this man had for his daughter. Yes, his intellect appeared to be low, however, it was so unnecessary to bully him. Instead of taking her out of the home immediately, they should have investigated and afforded him and his daughter the resources that was available. I literally had tears though. Sean Penn played the character so well, it seemed real. This to me, proved that he is a great actor. This movie had me filled with all types of emotions. I was angry, laughing, and sad. Kudos to the cast and director.
