This movie is offensive to the LGBTQ+ community. This makes homophobic people think they're right, that sexuality is a choice and that you can change it. You're born with your sexuality and theres nothing you can do to change it. Michael didn't convert himself to heterosexuality, he was just lying to himself and hiding who he really was. He didn't turn straight, he was still gay even when he found God. No matter how hard you try, nothing is going to change. This is sending the wrong message.

A gay guy converts himself and dates a woman?! Too bad it's only a movie. We could use more straight people in the world.

It is a great movie. Shows the attempt of a gay man to find spirituality in his life. Some think this movie is weird, but it portraits the struggle in a rather realistic way. (SPOILER) It is an LGBTQ+ movie because shows that even after searching for what he thought was right at the time he only found emptiness and discomfort.
