House of Dark Shadows

So much of the backstory - the compelling and guilt ridden vampire who could never remember his lines - is totally lost, probably somewhere on the cutting room floor by the look of the terrible editing. Why is Barnabas so hateful and violent on the big screen? Not the same Barnabas I saw on my tv everyday. It should have been a lot better, I think, as the actors were all really wonderful.

Great movie based on the TV series with much more powerful horror than allowed on TV. The movie was edited last minute by the studio so some of plot is not crystal clear. Overall a great classic.

I enjoyed it even though a couple of the scenes like Barnabas biting was corny & awkward. What surprised me was the blood in the film, but it's tame by today's standard. The ending was crushing. Must watch.
