I really wanted to like this film because the plot is unique and it has potential to be a really amazing film. Unfortunately it was a missed opportunity and ended up being an incredibly frustrating watch from start to finish. The characters are all unbelievably unlikable, their mannerisms and behaviours end up being just hard to watch and make this a grating film experience from the beginning. There are parts of this movie that are just so painfully slow, dragging on absolutely unnecessarily as an actor takes five minutes to walk across the screen, or scenes that could effectively be 1 minute spanning five or ten. As I said, I think the plot is unique and there are some interesting twists along the way that kept me invested in at least waiting to see what happens, but the viewing experience was truly unpleasant and there is no real pay off as you would expect from a horror movie like this. The ending is pretty anti-climactic, and again spans so much longer than it needs to, dragging out excruciatingly slowly and providing so many unnecessary details. I think this movie would be so much more effective if they just trusted the audience to fill in the blanks, and provided more context as 'insinuation' rather than spelling out everything for you. Definitely recommend just reading the wiki page instead of wasting your time experiencing the film in its totality. Sadly a big miss.

OMG...I don't usually say this but this movie is so awful you can't unsee it. A horrible waste of time and money. Don't bother. Just stay as far away as possible.

Classic example of a slowburn. The story is more upsetting versus your regular gorey horror flick. Would definitely recommend if you like movies such as The Witch, The Invitation and The Ritual!
