About this movie

Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his baby daughter are the last survivors of a damned and dangerous mission to the outer reaches of the solar system. The crew—death-row inmates led by a doctor (Juliette Binoche) with sinister motives—has vanished. As the mystery of what happened onboard the ship is unraveled, father and daughter must rely on each other to survive as they hurtle toward the oblivion of a black hole. A staggering and primal film about love and intimacy, suffused with anguished memories of a lost Earth, High Life is a haunting, thrilling achievement from visionary director Claire Denis.

I adore this move however it is not a horror or thriller movie, I hate that movies tend to advertise that they are horror or thriller when they (at least for the most part) are not.The visual and audio aesthetics of the movie are astounding. It's a movie I found inspiring in many ways, it's slow and takes its time, if you like this movie I'd suggest watching 'A Ghost Story' or 'Under the Skin'. It's reflection on society is cringy in an accurate way. The movie's plot is strange, if you're looking for something fast paced, linear, or horror (I went into this movie thinking it was horror so I understand a lot of others disappointment with the movie due to the misleading advertisement) this isn't for you.

Mesmerizing, High Life is one to think about only. It seems like it has substance but barely any story possibly, but I dont think thats the case. I think you just got to really pay attention to it. The title card scene in the film is fantastic looking. The production and visuals are quite great. I feel like maybe execution could have been better but I dont know. Honestly this one is hard to say. It gets really, really bizzare so you do really got to pay attention. I think it does well.

I have no idea how this film got over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. As for me, it's incredibly boring. When I watched it, I almost fell asleep after 10 minutes passed. But I give it two chances. First, I skipped 20 minutes to see some improvement. But there's not. Then I skipped 10 more minutes. Nothing again. So, I finally stopped watching. The film is so bad and unwatchable. Not even for once. So, if you value your time and money, DO NOT ever watch this one.
