About this movie

The incredible untold true story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) & Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. This stunning achievement galvanized the world and inspired generations to dream big.

Great story of people proving they are worthy of acceptance rather than demanding it they earnt it, while there was rejection of their potential due to race and sexuality they triumphed through ability rather than adversary, absolutely inspirational what people can achieve when they look beyond their own differences, this is a two way street. Those scoring below 4 need to look at themselves this was not a look at me I'm in your face kind of movie it was a look at us and see what we can achieve.

Why had I never heard about these women? Why didn't I grow up knowing about their astonishing contribution to our world? I'm so glad I know their stories now. Hidden Figures isn't just powerful, it's also entertaining. A fabulous, uplifting, enthralling story, with excellent performances from all the cast. I celebrate this movie and the women at the centre of its remarkable heart.

An excellent story with substance. If you like films with excellent writing and acting and production this is for you. If you're the kind of person who needs a Ritalin fuelled injection of dumb action scenes every few minutes, to be entertained, you won't like this. Kevin Costner is reliable as ever.
