About this movie

Prepare to travel beyond dreams and nightmares, into the realm of darkness and the furnaces of Hell as imagined by celebrated maestro of the macabre Clive Barker. When journeyman Frank purchases a mysterious Chinese puzzle box while visiting an exotic country he returns home to England and unwittingly unlocks a door to hell, dragged into a frightening dimension whose evil inhabitants, known as Cenobites, test his appetite for pleasure and tolerance for pain – literally tearing him apart in the process. Escaping his sado-masochistic hell, Frank returns to his old household and begins an insidious resurrection that will not only draw the life and soul of everyone around him but open a portal for Pinhead and his infernal Cenobites to wreak bloody havoc on an unsuspecting world. A gothic masterwork, Hellraiser is the original cult visceral descent into the depths of the darkest mind. 1987 1987 NEW WORLD PICTURES. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

An absolute horror classic. To be fair the acting is poor, the dialogue bland and the story line somewhat vague. However, in its day this film was on the cutting edge of horror. The practical horror effects are masterful. If you've seen this before then enjoy a trip down memory lane. If you haven't seen it then you can't call yourself a true horror fan until you've watched Hellraiser... so sit back, grab a drink and some popcorn and enjoy one of the greatest horror films ever made.

It kept my attention well enough and I most certainly enjoyed the tactile body horror, they just don't make it the same now.

Love the old classics that made real horror! They don't make anything as good as these in this day and age!
