About this movie

Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name, Heaven is for Real brings to the screen the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son's extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world. The film stars Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® award winning actor Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo and co-stars Kelly Reilly as Sonja Burpo, the real-life couple whose son Colton (newcomer Connor Corum) claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience. Colton recounts the details of his amazing journey with childlike innocence and speaks matter-of-factly about things that happened before his birth... things he couldn't possibly know. Todd and his family are then challenged to examine the meaning from this remarkable event.

I've not seen it yet. However, in reading the comments, a few came to mind. To Christians, the atheists watch for one of two reasons, they are either trolling to start arguments, or hoping they can find something that gives them a reason to believe. To atheists, most Christians don't come to secular movie sights just to bash them for not being faith based and would appreciate the same in return. If you don't believe in God, that is your choice, and I respect that, but it doesn't give a reason to go looking for an altercation. Before you bash believers, you must understand that they are not all Catholics, and may be a bit more spiritual than a religious traditionalist. And realize that if Christians are wrong in what they believe, when they die, it's of no consequence, however, if you're wrong, it is of dire consequence. Salvation through Christ is one of those things that is better to have and not need than to need and not have.

I was blessed to watch 'Heaven Is for Real;' and I watched it twice. The first time was a little emotional, but the second time I got revelation. The Lord gave Colton evidence that he had been with Him. The Angels singing and how they looked,Colton sitting on his lap and describing the marks in his hands and feet, then his dad's grandpa that he has never met, and his unborn sister who had died. The little girl whom God has gifted to paint what she sees in heaven, painted Jesus, and Colton recognized Jesus whom he saw in Heaven. I Believe the Lord gives us evidence of being with HIM whether others believe it or not. God gives His Children proof that He's real and that He loves us.

Thanks to God for his love of man, yes even those atheists among us. I shall pray for your souls! I shall pray you think more of others than of yourself and your small minded ways, God is real! Science cannot explain our existence; all we are given by science is conjecture and hypothesis... which changes frequently due to man's ego. May God bless you! This movie was great. The acting was suitable for a movie such as it is, obviously theatrics weren't needed to tell a great story.
