About this movie

More than three billion years ago, a race of immortals known as the Guardians of the Universe, established a team of heroes based out of a planet at the very center of creation and assigned to defend freedom and justice across the many galaxies. Each hero is given a ring that bestows awesome power. Together they are known as the Green Lantern Corps. When Earth's new representative to the Corps, Hal Jordan is recruited and placed under the supervision of senior Lantern Sinestro, he comes to realize that his trainer and mentor is at the heart of a secret conspiracy threatening the philosophy, tradition and very existence of the Corps that has defended universal law for far longer than Jordan's home world has existed. Now, Jordan must quickly master his new powers to combat the treasonous Lanterns in order to maintain order across the universe.

DC animation gives us a solid, well written GL origin story in this installment. Hal Jordan is a likeable, courageous protagonist who is willing to stand up for what's right. The movie has scenes with Hal stripped of his ring, showing that he's still a hero even without his power. Those scenes really hit home. The 2nd half is more compelling and Sinestro is a threatening villain. Personally I really enjoyed the animation style and the alien artwork/design.

Better than comic books and especially the Ryan Reynolds one but OK characters and good action and plot and nice animation so green lantern can't get better than a simple ok

However, it is still not a great movie. I haven't found a Green Lantern movie that was excellent yet. I would suggest renting this for a $1, but it is overpriced at $2
