About this movie

In 2011, music legend Glen Campbell set out on an unprecedented tour across America. He thought it would last 5 weeks; instead it went for 151 spectacular sold out shows over a triumphant year and a half. What made this tour extraordinary was that Glen had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He was told to hang up his guitar and prepare for the inevitable. Instead, Glen and his wife went public with his diagnosis and announced that he and his family would set out on a "Goodbye Tour.” The film documents this extraordinary journey as he and his family attempt to navigate the wildly unpredictable nature of Glen’s progressing disease using love, laughter and music as their medicine of choice. Special appearances include Bruce Springsteen, The Edge, Paul McCartney, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Steve Martin and Chad Smith among many others.

Watched him as a child of parents who loved him, continue to appreciate his music and him as a an artist/entertainer but it wasn't until it was announced that he had Alzheimer that I decided to dig into the story of Glen Campbell and find out everything I could about him, his life, his family, his successes, his trials and tribulations. I've never learned so much about one artist/entertainer in my entire life and I can't say it enough what an honor it is to know who Glen Travis Campbell was. Having studied every thing that was available about him I am deeply saddened by the loss that the world and his family has suffered from his passing. Despite all his fortune and fame, he never lost his humble side or pride for where he came from or where he began. I have been deeply saddened and have cried off and on since August 8th. I had no idea he could touch my heart the way he has. I only wish I could have met him before he passed away. I hope someday I am able to make contact with the true love of his life Kim, so that I can express my condolences in person and learn more about the tremendous human being he was. Rest in peace Mr. Campbell, you will never be forgotten. Susan Eisinger San Antonio, Texas

I am a basic soul music fan born and raised. I find GC to be one of a few ( Frank Sinatra) another to have a voice and style I find to be great and soothing.
