Ghostbusters (2016) is abysmal.  Unlike it's Director I don't think it's misogynistic to call this film out for what it is; it is a terrible cinematic turd.  You are however, a misogynist-in-denial if you believe (as Director Paul Feig and writer Katie Dippold must) the way to empower your female characters is to surround them with stupid male ones.  You're also a misandrist to write a film where all men are portrayed as one-dimensional idiots and where the climax involves firing proton streams at

Nothing about this remake worked , not a single one of the characters or the humour. The ghosts and the effects were OK but there was just no comedic value. That weird blonde lady did nothing but gurn her way through the whole movie and even Chris Hemsworth character didn't work somehow. That's the one bit that definitely could have been funny having the useless hunky male receptionist working for 4 women but the gags all felt flat and forced. Just wasn't at all funny.

Extended cut? Shortly before release, the extended cut was being advertised, now only the theatrical release is shown at same price? What do they say about sequels... They rarely equal let alone surpass the original. In this case not a sequel but a reboot. The original cast relegated to bit parts, dismisses the original cast and films' definitively, Leaving todays cinema goers thinking this is a true original movie. Funny, great cgi & a hint of familiarity makes this a great film. But for many Old is Still Golden.
