About this movie

In "Frozen," fearless optimist Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.

This was a great twist on the original "evil" snow queen story by Hans Christian. The visuals of the ice and snow woven into a frozen castle were stunning, and the songs, especially the title song, were very memorable (in contrast to the lastest Mary Poppins for example). Alice Cooper said he wished he'd written that title song which became a monster worldwide hit. It's not for everyone. My eight year old daughter's male schoolmates hate it, but that's probably because its about two sisters and the power of love. One of Disney's best, and I can't help but think John Lasseter as EP may have had some hand in that. Can't wait for #2.

I got this movie as part of a free redeem for buying the Chromecast. Thank goodness I did not pay for it or purchase a BluRay of this. I guess this is mainly aimed at the pre teen girls market because I found it boring. 10 minutes at least and there had been 3 or 4 songs. Now I do not mind some musicals, so long as they have catchy tunes (still love Grease and Little Shop of Horrors) but these songs were just so bland. The only redeeming character was Olaf and he does not come in till about the half way mark. I see this has come part of the Billion dollar gross club, but for the life of me I cannot see why. I guess I was just not part of the intended audience. The highlights for me: Anna waking up as a teen was quite humorous, Olaf (actually thought it was Jonah Hill as first) had some good moments. The animation was great, (although I have always loved most 3D animation) and the giant snowman at the very end. The rest....MEHH
