ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER! Watch with tissues! Great story of deep, caring characters. The extremely talented MARY STUART MASTERSON is IDGIE THREADGOOD, a gorgeous bee charmer loyal to the core. MARY-LOUISE PARKER is RUTH JAMISON, a Godly angel-on-Earth kind of gal who can melt any man's heart, save horrible FRANK BENNETT's. STAN SHAW awesomely plays faithful BIG GEORGE. JESSICA TANDY & KATHY BATES deliver stunning performances of two people who know what the best thing in life is : FRIENDS!

One of my most beloved & favorite movies. It always takes me back to when I was a child and saw it for the first time and never had a film touch me and mean so much to me before. I think this was the first role I ever saw Mary Louise Parker in and completely fell in love with her as an actress after seeing her play Ruth. Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy's scenes together are touching, especially in the end when Kathy asks Jessica to live with her after her home is destroyed.

I 1st saw this movie at a dollar theatre. The film broke right before we found out who killed the guy. Everyone jumped up to go to the restroom and buy more popcorn. The manager waited till ereryone was back in their seats before resuming. That was the best film I ever saw with my family. We talked about it for days
