About this movie

It's spine-tingling horror in a whole new dimension as Friday the 13th Part 3-3D: Deluxe Edition comes to DVD! A carefree summer becomes a deadly nightmare for another group of naïve counselors who choose to ignore Camp Crystal Lake's gruesome legacy. They find themselves in a bloody game of cat-and-mouse with the maniacal Jason who stalks their every move...and ruthlessly kills them off one-by-one.

Part 3 is quite simply put, a terrible movie. The entire budget went into cheap gimmicky 3D, which really shows when you get a taste of the absolute awful acting. I mean it's laughable how terrible the "talent" in this film was, even to today's low standards. The plot was rushed and lazy with nearly zero character development. Jason's portrayal was horrendous with our iconic killer fumbling around like a clumsy fool. 2 Stars simply because it's worth watching atleast once, if you're a fan of the series.

Okay, now there's this movie. I have no problem with this movie other than the terrible acting and dialogue done with each character. The decisions they make are so stupid and it's like they want to be killed. The thing that saves this movie is the kills. I like the kills in this movie a lot. Not as much as in Part II, but still enjoyable. The story is also pretty by the numbers. This movie is where Jason got his iconic hokey mask so that's gotta count for something! (C+)

Since the Friday the 13th the game came out this year (2017), I've been wanting to catch up on the movies just to see where some of the ideas for the game came from (or rather what movies they got ideas from...). This was the first movie I needed to re-watch since it's been a long time since I've seen these films. This movie (part 3) was pretty good in my opinion. This is the movie where Jason gets his hockey mask, which becomes his iconic look throughout the rest of the series. I admit, this was filmed so that it could be shown in 3D, which looks pretty cheesy to nowadays, but at least I felt that this movie didn't drag on like part 1 and 2 (watching an entire scene of somebody making coffee...no jump scares, is pretty lame). It's a good movie, and I think this is the movie to start with when re-watching or catching up on the Friday the 13th movies. Great shock ending, too...
