About this movie

When a summer camp at idyllic Crystal Lake reopens 25 years after the tragic drowning of a young boy named Jason, the woods fill with the happy squeals of young campers and the sight of the furtive couplings of libidinous counselors. But when a violent rainstorm isolates the lake, one-by-one the counselors are horribly murdered in this film that launched a modern horror genre.

Possibly the original and best of the series. Stars a young Kevin Bacon (pre-Footloose) who plays a camp counselor. The music sets the tone for the later parts of the film, and the location and scenery in New York is perfect. Made on a ridiculously low budget, it's certainly credited with re-inventing the slasher genre. 5 stars for originality....

Well honestly it's ok film but it's not my favourite and I think honestly that the first one is more creepy then the rest because when I saw it first time I did know who the killer was until the end!

Sean s. Cunningham's Friday the 13th is an ok slasher film, that is sadly, at tines slow and boring.
