About this movie

From Disney and creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas) comes the hilarious and offbeat Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life — with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous. Frankenweenie is alive with enchanting fun for the whole family.

A must see for dog lovers. As the proud owners of a 6lb Chi-Weenie (also named Sparky) this was a must see and then we ended up buying it. This little dog was just great and the story line was magnificent. Children and adults of all ages will enjoy endlessly watching this movie. Tim Burton does great on animation and almost 30 yrs. later Sparky hits the big screen. See it you will not regret it, unless you do not like little doggies and this one is smart, plus a life-saver.:-)

I cannot justify letting kids see such a movie. It is dark, in poor taste, and puts disturbing ideas and images in one's mind. A sewn up dead dog, zapping a dead animal in school, cadaverous human characters - sick. Frankenstein was nothing like Wenie. Frank' is a social/life values commentary, versus farce n gallows humor in Wenie.

The people that gave this 1 star obviously do not understand that when you watch a Tim Burton movie, you go into some rather macabre territory. Be that as it may, I very much enjoyed watching it despite the black and white and the darkness of some of the characters and the story itself. Some might find the movie too dark for kids but I say let them make that decision because the themes presented in the story really are great for kids and adults alike.
