As far as Alien rip-offs go, this is one of the most enjoyable I've seen. The score is pretty good, though not super memorable. The atmosphere is pretty stellar given the low budget. The lighting is superbly creepy without being too dark. The acting is good enough for this sort of picture. And there's plenty of nudity for those who enjoy that sort of thing. The special effects are TERRIFIC for a low budget picture with one, glaring, exception. The final form of the monster itself is outright laughable. He's a chubby Xenomorph crossed with a spider. Not even remotely frightening. I much preferred the gooey, tentacled, featureless critter it was BEFORE it transformed. All of the transformed (zombified, perhaps?) people look terrific and are totally scary. The robot sidekick looks pretty cool too. I just don't know why so little effort was put into the final beasty. Still, this is a fun little romp and I have to recommend it. It's not heavy on plot (of course) but it DOES feature a pretty interesting way of defeating the monster.

Very "grindhouse" 80s version of Alien/The Thing. Awesome synthesizer score overwhelms every scene, very much like Italian 70s cinema. Tons of gratuitous gore & nudity. Logic non-existent. A final girl that can scream louder than Jamie Lee!!... ๐๐
