About this movie

Footloose jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure and rigid morality, when city-boy Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) finds himself in an uptight Midwestern town where dancing has been banned. Ren revolts with best friend Willard (Chris Penn) and the minister's daughter (Lori Singer). A treasury of Top 10 songs-Kenny Loggins "Footloose," Shalamar "Dancing In The Sheets," Deniece Williams "Let's Hear It For The Boy," Bonnie Tyler "Holding Out for A Hero," and the Footloose love theme, "Almost Paradise."

From the opening credits (150 pairs of dancing feet) you know that you're in for a sweet ride. Blending perfectly matched songs to an amazing story based on fact, this showed the MTV crowd how to make movies. Stellar performances from new actors and a few veterans, there is little to fault anywhere in the show. It still holds its own after 30 years and there are not a helluva lot of movies that can make that claim! So go ahead and feel your feet start tapping again - it'll make you feel great. 'Nuff Said

Grew up with the CD of the soundtrack on repeat in my mama's car and the DVD out on the living room table all the time cuz we never wanted to actually put it away. Classic hits and great actors. They don't make 'em like this no more.

Doesn't matter where you are when the music hits you. If you have a way to express your feelings, then let them out! Kevin B. and the other actors get 5 stars!! Even in a little bitty town, we express joy through dance.
