About this movie

When second-graders Bryce and Juli first meet, Juli knows it's love. Bryce isn't so sure. Beginning that day, and for the next six years, young Bryce (Callan McAuliffe) does everything he can to keep his outspoken wannabe girlfriend at arm's length...which isn't easy since they go to the same school and live across the street from each other. Smart, dreamy, independent and willing to stand up for what she believes in, Juli (Madeline Carroll) is different from anyone else he knows and, frankly, it's a little overwhelming. Though disappointed by Bryce's unwillingness to see things her way, or even to see the things in life she finds most meaningful, Juli continues to give her potential dreamboat the benefit of the doubt. Until those doubts stack up so high that she finally thinks maybe she was wrong about him. It's just about the same time Bryce starts to think maybe he was wrong about her, too. But is he too late? It's uniquely told and directed, family friendly (except for a tiny bit of language here and there), funny and witty and you can't help but fall in love with these kids. Quite relatable in the sense how we tend to be shallow when you're younger but come to realize that beauty is not just skin deep

This is a coming of age story, where two characters face some harsh realities and at first deal with life in opposite ways. The idea of learning to see the world in a deeper way, through a child's eyes, for the first time, is a beautiful one. I enjoyed the development of each character and their atypical personalities, and their motivation that drove them to change, or in a few instances stay the same. The story was centered around a Sycamore tree, which, was an excellent metaphor, for the two characters relationship. I'm in love with this feel good and ultra sweet movie.

There are two sides to every story and this is clearly proven in Flipped. This movie is soo soo great, and you just have a good vibe when you watch it. You fall in love with so many of the characters, and you start to think about the people in your life. I love, love, love this movie!! And check out the book as well!! Equally, if not more incredible!! 😊❤
