There's nothing more that I can really say about the plot and characters that hasn't already been said. If you're going to like it, you're going to like it and if it's not your cup of tea, this won't change your mind. However, I felt that as a film it was a poor ending to the trilogy. To call this film incompetent is a bit overkill but there were several scenes that were pretty poor compared to the other 2 movies. The soundtrack was especially annoying. While I like all of the songs individually, the tone was often jarring with the scene. Since I think the soundtrack was the best part of the previous films, I was quite disappointed. There's definitely a sense the creative team which at least tried with the first 2 films were just showing up for the paycheques at this point which makes the whole thing feel lazy.

An absolutely disgusting piece of filth. I can't believe that films like this are even allowed to be published. This is an attempt to legitimise, normalise and romanticise sadism and torture. Nothing but hardcore pornography brought into the mainstream. The enemies of God have come crawling out from the sewers.

The only thing I didn't like was how rushed the scenes and dialogue felt and how many enjoyable parts of the book were missing. EL James stays true to her Twilight fanfiction. You are annoyingly pulled into these characters lives, no matter how much you don't want to, you find yourself caring. The movies took me on that journey again and put faces to the characters and images to the scenes but ultimately the books win out everytime. I have read tons of books not many get me caring though.
