Even though I don't know much about Baseball, this was a deeply touching film for me. Phil Alden Robertson has rarely directed a bad movie (see Adam Sandler in 'Punch-Drunk Love', and Robert Redford in 'Sneakers'), and this one was deeply moving for me as a man - which I find rare as far as Hollywood is concerned. The credits dedicate it 'To our Parents', and that's what it's all about. Family, loss, what is found again, and love which over-arches time. In short, about the best of our dreams.l This is not a sentimental movie; it's a film which can move you at your core, made by a master director. Let it get past you and take it in.
