About this movie

One spring day, toward the end of his senior year, Ferris gives in to an overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his girl (Mia Sara) and his best friend (Alan Ruck), to see the sights, experience a day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage and a red Ferrari, life at 17 can be a joy!

Bueller? Bueller? What else needs to be said? Another eighties classic from writer/director John Hughes. Matthew Broderick is on top form as the title character who, upon deciding to play truant one morning, ropes in both his girlfriend and best friend Cameron (played to perfection by Alan Ruck). They take Cameron's father's Ferrari and head into town for the day with their headteacher - Ed Rooney (another defining role for Jeffrey Jones) in pursuit, whilst his sister - a pre-Dirty Dancing Jennifer Grey - tries her best to land him in trouble with their parents. Fast cars, a typical 80s soundtrack including Yello, and Abe Froman, the sausage king of Chicago make for a family film you will definitely watch again. Oh - and if you think Marvel invented the post-credit scene, think again. Bom-bom. Chicka chickaah.
