What more powerful a biography than to be told by his in-ring adversaries?! Which coincidentally, offered an intimate, self-unveiling of their own character. How timely to have recorded these interviews after enough time had passed for them to be reflectiive, but not so long as to be irrelevant.

I was on the nominating committee of the Oscars for 5 years. We watched 4 docs a week for five months a year. This is the greatest doc of all! I just watched it 3x in 2 days. It is so special, tough and touching, brutal and beautiful.

I remember all these fights and all the fighters. This is what boxing was and always will be to me. The respect they showed for Ali is incredible.
