What an absolutely beautiful film! It demonstrates not only how society interacts with art, but it also shows the blossoming friendship between JR and Agnes Varda as they take on the roads of France, meet people from different towns and a range of backgrounds, and create very beautiful and sometimes quite moving murals in the process. As they journey throughout France, you embark along with them, through the good times and the bad. Faces Places is a documentary that's often charming, sometimes funny, and never uninteresting. It's truly an inspiration - a reminder not just of our humanity, but also of our need for art and self-expression - and, dare I say, a hidden treasure and a must-watch.

It was gorgeous; the people were so opened up to the beauty of art in their context.
