About this movie

EYE IN THE SKY stars Helen Mirren as Colonel Katherine Powell, a UK-based military officer in command of a top secret drone operation to capture terrorists in Kenya. Through remote surveillance and on-the-ground intel, Powell discovers the targets are planning a suicide bombing and the mission escalates from “capture” to “kill.” But as American pilot Steve Watts (Aaron Paul) is about to engage, a nine-year old girl enters the kill zone triggering an international dispute, reaching the highest levels of US and British government, over the moral, political, and personal implications of modern warfare

A responsible depiction of the decision process that drone warfare brings and the consequences for all involved both at the point of strike and in enacting that strike.. The consequences include those of the aftermath; consider a father and mother who might be anti terrorism, becoming radicalised, a senior officer becoming an alcoholic, those on the trigger becoming just one more statistic on the Perpetration Induced PTSD statics, the politicians becoming hardened and bitter and slipping further down the slope of indifference and corruption. The choices of war are terrible. We would all do well to remember who has to make and prosecute those decisions and have live with them, perhaps this film gives us some insight in to what they have to experience.

I can honestly not fathom why people are criticizing this! It gives a refreshing insight into the horrors of modern warfare, many of the people who reviewed don't realize that! The whole point of this film is to show you what war really does! Stop with the "oh it's boring" thing right now! This isn't your typical war film, unlike others, which show people being brutally massacred, this one actually gives shows you what war actually does! Much better than those stupid propaganda American war films!

Very good film, really well done. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire way. It is quite thought provoking too, makes you really think about the costs of war. A lot of war films get lost in the violence, this film really does take into consideration the moral side.
