About this movie

Ryan Gosling stars as a Hollywood stunt driver for movies by day and moonlights as a wheelman for criminals by night. Though a loner by nature, "Driver" can't help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan), a young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband. After a heist goes wrong, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals (Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman). Soon he realizes the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash and is forced to shift gears and go on the offense. (Original Title - Drive (2011)) © 2011 Drive Film Holdings, LLC. "Drive" is an artsy, neo-noir, crime-drama thriller that immerses you into the world with its focus on beautiful cinematography and ambiance over the rampant use of bombastic action sequences to evoke resonating emotions with its minimalistic dialogue style and amazing soundtrack that knows when to kick it into high gear and when to slam the brakes. Lead star, Ryan Gosling, plays the role beautifully with co-star, Carrey Mulligan, and the film is at its best when the interactions between these two are sparse with words but heavy with emotion that well complements the film's simple story, which isn't a bad thing if done right; and "Drive" delivers away just as Ryan Gosling's character drives away into the starry night sky with "A Real Hero" by College & Electric Youth playing in the background, further acknowledging the protagonist's transformation throughout the movie, all this interpreted only through facial expressions, ambiance and soundtrack, with no words directly telling you so. This film is pure storytelling without the fluff and it drives home that point after multiple viewings, which I highly recommend as many beats may have been missed the first time. The second viewing was truly remarkable and allowed me to truly appreciate this beautifully crafted art by director Nicolas Winding Refn.

This movie may have a simple plot, but it was given one of the greatest directorial jobs I've ever seen. People who hate it were expecting a diet Fast and Furious; it isn't, it's an hard core dramatic thriller. For those of you who don't get it, then here's a tip; always look at The Drivers expressions; there are a lot more things to it, but I can't fit anymore on this list.

Really captured the old school action adventure style from the 80's. With out a doubt a very solid scripted and executed movie... With how my brain works I only caught one error... That's fantastic, normally I find lots of flaws in movies and it makes them hard to watch for me. I would highly recommend this movie.
