About this movie

Witness the origin story of one of legend's most captivating figures in the action-adventure, Dracula Untold. The year is 1462 and Transylvania has enjoyed a prolonged period of peace under the just and fair rule of the battle-weary Vlad III, the prince of Wallachia (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit series). But when Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper, Captain America: The First Avenger) demands 1,000 of Wallachia's boys -- including Vlad's own son -- become child soldiers in his army, Vlad must enter into a Faustian bargain to save his family and his people. He gains the strength of 100 men, the speed of a falling star, and the power to crush his enemies. In exchange, he's inflicted with an insatiable thirst for human blood that could force him into a life of darkness and destroy all that he holds dear. As a movie, it is not entertain at all. Its seem that this "untold story" tries too hard to starting the other perspective. Too much movies that made villain become "the victims" that their sins being understandable these days. For this one, failed! Don't dare to says for sake of creativity and open minded enlightment, put the "untold histories stories" as a foundation of the movie just because you want Vlad Dracula' sin being forgiveable and understandable. Do it by discredited The Sultan. Coppola did a masterpiece but it is a piece for yourselves only.

Such a wasted opportunity. It has a great cast and it build the story really well. Ottoman Empire was terribly done though. Great example of adding white actors to roles where they do not fit at all. I would have loved this far more if it was more periodically accurate with clothing instead of giving Vlad some superhero armor. Otherwise I liked it. It had hope for a movie series just like the Underworld movies, but this one had way better cast and cgi. I still hope for a sequel even though I'm fairly sure if there will be one, it will be by different studio with half the budget. People love vampires if you just take the theme more seriously. Such a wasted opportunity.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the actor was one of my favourites. Especially from the hobbit. And fellows I recommend watching the hobbit 3, in the highest resolution as possible because its worth it.
