About this movie

From Marvel comes Doctor Strange, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange, whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place – a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange – armed with newly acquired magical powers – is forced to choose whether to return to his old life or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

In the words of my boys who watched it with me, "the end didn't make sense", but thankfully the rest of the movie was well put together. Sure there were slow character development sections, but they came together into a believable plot and a couple of short, graphic heavy, fight scenes. Not at bad introduction to such a well loved character, and certainly something that Cumberbatch has managed to put on the mantel, cape and all. I am really looking forward to seeing how his character continues to develop now that they have gotten the origin story out of the way.

It's alright. Solid acting (though cumberbatches accent is a little hard to hear - probably just used to his normal accent). Story is typical origin tale. Special fx are solid. Action is pretty good. having low expectations helped. Worth the 2 hours of distraction.

Fantastic magical delight, the film should've handled his character growth better but the action scenes and mind boggling special effects makes this one of the best solo MCU movies
