From Marvel comes Doctor Strange, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange, whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place – a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange – armed with newly acquired magical powers – is forced to choose whether to return to his old life or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

In the words of my boys who watched it with me, "the end didn't make sense", but thankfully the rest of the movie was well put together. Sure there were slow character development sections, but they came together into a believable plot and a couple of short, graphic heavy, fight scenes. Not at bad introduction to such a well loved character, and certainly something that Cumberbatch has managed to put on the mantel, cape and all. I am really looking forward to seeing how his character continues to develop now that they have gotten the origin story out of the way.

Awesome film. However google play customer service is laughable and has sworn me off the google brand after tonight when my elderly father was overcharged for a rental on his account with a specific targeted promo code. 40 minutes later after total incompetent service reps (the opposite of Gmail reps), I purchased it instead with my account and we watched it together still flabbergasted from the customer service experience. Film has something for everyone but moving forward I will be utilising an alternative provider out of principle.

Absolutely brilliant film and an excellent introduction for the character Doctor Strange into the MCU. An excellent storyline complemented by an amazing feast of visual effects for the eyes and mind. Benedict Cumberbatch gives a solid performance as the title character with solid performances also from Tilda Swindon, Mads Mickelson, and many more. Doctor Strange is one of my favorite MCU films, I can't praise it enough and I hope others enjoy it as much as I do.
