About this movie

“Doctor Sleep” is the continuation of Danny Torrance’s story 40 years after the terrifying events of Stephen King’s The Shining. Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.” Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality. Forming an unlikely alliance, Dan and Abra engage in a brutal life-or-death battle with Rose. Abra’s innocence and fearless embrace of her shine compel Dan to call upon his own powers as never before—at once facing his fears and reawakening the ghosts of the past.

Watched Doctor Sleep. Very underwhelmed. Ewan McGreggor looked bored with his role and he was disastrously miscast. The film itself felt rushed and everything crammed in or taken from the book felt misused or ill-fitting for the movie adaptation. I just didn't care about any of the characters or was emotionally invested in them. Never have I checked the time so much during a movie. And the stand-in for Jack Nicholson when he was younger 🤦‍♂ The "big showdown" at the Overlook Hotel 💩

I was so excited to see this. but was majorly dissapointed. Seemed rushed and underdone. The killing of the children was over gratatuios for no real specific reason, felt like i was watching a watered down version of stephen kings IT. No real connection to the original at all, and what was tied back was poorly done and almost laughable. Great plot... loose editing and casting.

Great movie until the last 15 minutes. If you know the book, you'll roll your eyes. Recommend other than that.
