About this movie

From producer Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp comes a startlingly original science-fiction thriller where alien refugees, stranded on Earth, are exiled to a slum on the fringes of Johannesburg.

The characters we're over the top and nearly all of them were un-relatable. Many of the climactic moments were quite predictable with many ex-machinas. By the end of the movie you will have a lot of questions with little to no closure. Pretty much the only redeeming quality of this movie was the interesting idea it was built around and the intense action scenes. I would not recommend this movie.

It's very disturbing if you actually have a heart. Racist doesn't even begin to describe it. I think that it shows a plethora of our faults as humans. Cruelty, oppressive tendencies, hateful ignorance for living breathing things. Watching this was the equivalent of listing all the terrible things humanity is capable of and then doing it. I'm saddened that so many actually found this to be a good movie. It's disgusting and whoever thought it was a good idea to make should be ashamed.

Neil Blomkamp's original style makes his futuristic alien tech look gritty and dust-covered, worn and used, which adds a tremendous dimension of realism this genre is long overdue for. The political ramifications of these unexpected situations pose strange new questions we never thought we'd ask. This film is to alien invaders what "Watchmen" was with superheroes.
