Die Königin und der Leibarzt

This film is based on a true story, but period drama isn't historiography. That's why I don't mind invented characters or fictional plot twists as long as the story told on screen in itself is convincing. Unfortunately, though, this is not the case here. The costumes are great and the filming is subtle and artistic, but the three main characters don't seem to connect. In an older German version of the film, it was much easier to grasp why the Queen would fall in love with Struensee...

Faszinierende Einblicke in ein Königshaus, das nicht so oft im Rampenlicht steht. Aber alles basierend auf wahren Begebenheiten.

Das ist ein guter und auch visuell starker Film. 👍👍👍👍👍
