About this movie

From Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind the modern horror masterpiece The Witch, comes this hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers (Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson) on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. As an approaching storm threatens to sweep them from the rock and strange apparitions emerge from the fog, each man begins to suspect that the other has become dangerously unmoored.

Pseudo-Intellektueller Wirrwarr in schwarzweiß und 4zu3 Retrolook mit dünner Story und jede Menge Overacting. Da können selbst ein Dafoe, Infraschallorgien und blödsinnige Texte keine Atmosphäre erzeugen.

Würde am liebsten weniger als 0 Sterne geben, der Film ist komplett sinnbefreit, aber wer auf sehr verschreibungspflichtige Filme steht sollte sich den anschauen, total enttäuscht....

einfach großartig , dieser Film ist auf seiner eigene art großartig und man muss dem schwarz weiß und dem 4:3 Verhältnis eine chance geben aber die beschreibung "Horror" passt nicht so ganz weil es kein "klassischer" Horror film wie "Annabelle" oder "The Nun". Das Schauspiel von Willem Dafoe und Robert Pattinson ist einfach großartig und trägt auf jeden fall den Film und deshalb 5 von 5 Sternen
