About this movie

In this explosive story of revenge and urban violence, Charles Bronson plays Paul Kersey, a bleeding-heart liberal who has a change of opinion after his wide and daughter are violently attacked by a gang of thugs in their apartment. His daughter is raped, and his wife is raped and murdered. Bronson then turns vigilante as he stalks the mean streets of New York on the prowl for muggers, hoodlums and the like. Death Wish is a violent, controversial film that is frank and original in its treatment of urban crime and the average citizen's helplessness in dealing with it. Herbie Hancock wrote the musical score. And watch for a young Jeff Goldblum in his film debut as one of the thugs.

I watched this in anticipation of the Bruce Willis remake coming in Nov. I feel this was Bronson's best work. THe film shows its age a bit, but still a good flick. I paid the extra buck for HD playback and it was worth it, looked great on my larger screen TV.

They just don't make GREAT movies like this anymore. I'm a firm believer of street justice. If more people were to think and act like (Paul Kersey) Charles Bronson,it would be a much safer world to live in. If there were more vigilante's, the "bad guys" would think twice before acting on their dangerously impulses.

Death Wish is one of my favorite revenge/vigilante movies of all-time! Charles Bronson was great in this movie. Death Wish II was great too! I find these movies hilarious😂😂😂😂
