About this movie

Academy Award(R) winner Robin Williams (Best Supporting Actor, Good Will Hunting, 1997) delivers one of his most memorable performances in Dead Poets Society. For generations, Welton Academy students have been groomed to live lives of conformity and tradition - until new professor John Keating inspires them to think for themselves, live life to the fullest and "Carpe Diem." This unconventional approach awakens the spirits of the students, but draws the wrath of a disapproving faculty when an unexpected tragedy strikes the school. With unforgettable characters and beautiful cinematography, Dead Poets Society will captivate and inspire you time and time again.

Only film watched that feel very strongly that it should be banned for all viewers with exceptions to those trained enough to not let it influence them to a harmful effects.

One of my all time favorite movies, a brilliant performance from Robin Williams and a thoughtful story that can hit too close to home for some of it's viewers. Offering something for everyone. A story that lets the viewer take something away new away from it after every viewing; I will always find inspiration in this film even in the lowest points of life. Carpi Diem, Seize The Day

"....that life exists and you may contribute a verse...." This teacher inspired me in my youth. This story inspires me still to think and act outside convention. Go look from a different perspective ( especially when ur stuck)! Mr. Williams and his roles have been a integral part of my perspective on life. We will continue to " gather 'ye rosebuds while 'ye may" and many generations will continue 2 b inspired by ur genius. Love you! U r missed! Oh Captain, My Captain!
