About this movie

Academy Award(R) winner Robin Williams (Best Supporting Actor, Good Will Hunting, 1997) delivers one of his most memorable performances in Dead Poets Society. For generations, Welton Academy students have been groomed to live lives of conformity and tradition - until new professor John Keating inspires them to think for themselves, live life to the fullest and "Carpe Diem." This unconventional approach awakens the spirits of the students, but draws the wrath of a disapproving faculty when an unexpected tragedy strikes the school. With unforgettable characters and beautiful cinematography, Dead Poets Society will captivate and inspire you time and time again.

The beginning I will admit is slow, but the acting is extraordinary, the plot developments are natural and it is presented in such a realistic way that I can't really express the emotional attatchment I now have to the film. Prepare for a few tears if you are a sensitive film watcher like me, I cried for the last half hour constantly.

Another great performance from Williams, very moving and thought provoking, definitely a must watch. Supporting roles and characters also deeply convincing. the film leaves the viewer no choice but to accept the importance of communication through adolescence. Enjoy :)

On Poetry: "like honey, dripping from our tongues"... What magical script writing! Truly poetic to a T. Worth the watch for all sensitive and creative types.
