I thought the first one was lacking slightly but this one missed the mark completely. A night of drinking all but scrubbed the details from my head the next day (thank God) but this is what I do remember: I did not enjoy the movie at all. I love my pointless action movies as much as the next guy but this one reminded me of that during the movie. For example, yes Indiana Jones could have stayed home for the entire movie and the Nazis still would have died. Did you realize that watching it the first time, no.

I couldn't watch past the first ten minutes. The initial scenes are totally over-acted and it's not clear why humans must fight the apes or why there is such urgency since they have been living through a decade long apocalyptic future. The CGI is good and the landscapes are well done. The action is gratuitous. The movie probably should have started with the human encampment to generate empathy for the group.

One movie was enough, yet they made more after that and then they died off. Hollywood loves its reboots, because who wants to write an original story these days? So they remake it with James Franco as a scientist.. Yeah not a joke and then they deem that craptacular to be worthy of a sequel and so here we are. You're reading my crap review of the crap sequel of the crap remake of the crap franchise that had one good movie with Heston acting like a madman. I feel mad after watching this and no, not angry.
