It can't live up to the high emotional standards achieved in the first prequel, Rise, but Caesar remains a very strong performance yet again by Andy 'Give this man an Oscar' Serkis. Although well written, directed and acted; the movie never felt like it worked. Too little depth to remember and not entertaining enough to spend 2hrs with.

How to put this? It's a compelling watch and it probably won't make you cry but it is a sad state of affairs. The apes have enslaved horses and they go fishing, so that sucks, from an abolitionist vegan's POV, seeing as how no animal should be enslaved. One can see why one of the apes went bad - you just have to Google vivisection images, but he went and started a war. It's a good story despite verging on the ridiculous at times. Hopefully it'll make non-vegans who eat and wear animals (while claiming to love animals) think about their actions (paying to have animals confined, enslaved, exploited and murdered for no necessary reason). And to reiterate: DAIRY CAUSES ALZHEIMERS. Well, dairy and fast "food" like Macdonald's. Yes, really. So if you value your brain, go VEGAN.

Don't waste your money! Utter rubbish! Special effects may be the only thing going for this film. If that's what floats your boat. Special effects is no substitute for a good storyline. Both have to deliver.
