About this movie

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Didn't even make sense. Supposedly this mansion is built on top of a red clay mine (why would you build there?) and the clay seeps through the ground, but there also manages to be clay seeping from 2nd and 3rd storey walls. Plot is terrible. Tom Hiddleston gives it everything he can but not even his acting cab turn this train wreck around.

I thought the movie was going to be more of a scare movie. Turns out the ghosts are just a very small piece of the movie. It is more about the diabolical brother and sister, what they've done in the past and what they plan to do in the future. It was OK, but I went in with different expectations which probably left me liking it less. Also starts out slow. I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it, granted I was tired.

I love Tom Hiddleston and madly adore Guillermo Del Toro. It reminded me of a old Mexican folktale that was given a English spin, which is not a bad thing. I was entertained but, not scared. I wanted more about the mom and Dad, the wives, they're child hood. What turned her (Lucille) into a psychopath and and why did he (Thomas) follow...Edith saw dead people...i wanted more.
