I wanted to love this movie. I was counting down the days till I could see it. But had tempered expectations as to not be disappointed. Left disappointed. The only reason it's getting two stars is because the cast is great! This had the potential to be a truly good body horror film but there was none of that. It turns out it was just another global warming film. Which if done well can be good, but I don't know found myself more bored than anything.

It's not a good story and on top of that it isn't told well either. The point(s) this movie is trying to make are so muddled by the poor story telling that they become laughable. Character development isn't there, plot development isn't there, and even the gore seem pointless.

Outstanding. And a lot of heart for Cronenberg. Saul, Caprice, Wippet, Cope, and the Sark Technicians Router and Berst (a bizarre, semi-sexy female duo I found more surprising than the movie's actually minimal and tolerable gore) are all interesting characters in a world I wanted to learn more about. Timlin is good too, but I didn't like her and saying why would require spoilers. Great dialogue from philosophy buff Cronenberg, and in spite of the supposed "bleak tone" hope for a brave new world!
