Directed by acclaimed photographer Anton Corbijn and based on Deborah Curtis's "Touching from a Distance", Control is the story of the late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis's life, from the band's rise to fame to his tragic suicide. Starring Samantha Morton (Minority Report, Sweet and Lowdown) and Alexandra Maria Lara (Downfall, Youth Without Youth) and featuring an incredible performance from newcomer Sam Riley as Ian Curtis, Control documents the relationships with both his wife and his girlfriend, his battle with epilepsy and the road to success with his band, Joy Division. I am a massive Joy Division fan. I have read the book, but when I bought the film, it took me 4 year's to actually watch it. I was not disappointed. Fantastic acting. Got Ian Curtis spot on. People say that the film is depressing, it's upsetting that Ian Curtis was so tortured, he could not see anything other than ending his own life. But, we have a massive legacy in his word's/music. WATCH, WATCH, WATCH. True Joy Division fan's will "get it" (absolutely no disrespect to non-J.D fan's).

A truly heartbreaking but beautiful account of the troubled singer's life. I'm a believer in Joy Division.
